From September 28 to October 19, 2018, the international traveling exhibition “Designing in Dialogue—Architectural Answers”, which has been curated by the German practice gmp architects von Gerkan, Marg and Partners, can be seen at the Niavaran Cultural Center in Tehran. Under the guiding motto “Future prospects for Iran”, the exhibition is dedicated to projects and designs gmp has developed and implemented in Iran in recent years, in addition to completed projects from all over the world. Key projects in Iran are the Shahr-e Aftab Trade Fair complex in Tehran and gmp’s masterplan for the former Ghale Morghi Airport. What a cultural center on this airport site could look like is demonstrated by the students’ designs for Tehran City Garden, which were produced during a workshop organized by the aac, the Academy for Architectural Culture (Hamburg) and the MAF, the Mirmiran Architecture Foundation (Tehran).
The exhibition will be opened by the German Ambassador Michael Klor-Berchtold on September 27, 2018. To start off with, a symposium will be held with lectures, one of the speakers being Prof. Dr.-Ing. h. c. Volkwin Marg, founding partner of gmp.
